A paragraph about interpretation of the six characters in the Commentary on the Contemplation Sutra
《觀經疏》「六字釋」之文:

“Namo” means to entrust our lives, as well as to dedicate merit towards rebirth [in the Pure Land]. [Reciting] “Amitabha Buddha” is the practice. That is why rebirth is certain.

言「南無」者，即是歸命；亦是發願迴向之義。 言「阿彌陀佛」者，即是其行。以斯義故，必得往生。

Namo Amitabha!
