If we can take Amitabha recitation as our knowledge and wisdom, we will recite Amitabha’s name faithfully without contention. That is the meaning of “don’t pursue pure learning, do develop faith”. Eventually it leads to faith. Faith is his goal, his objective, what he looks for, and where he wants to reach. 

念佛就是我們的學問，就是我們的智慧。如果能夠這樣的話，就是無諍念佛、老實念佛，也就是「不純學術而信仰化」。到最後，歸入信仰，信仰才是他的目標、他的目的、他所盼望的，他要歸趣的地方。
