If we deeply and clearly evaluate our aptitudes and virtuous roots, we find that we are simply unqualified and lack the capacity to pursue the Sagely Path. If we don’t understand ourselves, and go for the Sagely Path, we shall continue to reincarnate.
In our daily lives, it is not easy to uphold the Five Precepts well. For instance, let’s look at No Lying. Though we know we should be truthful, we often break that Precept in our speech and actions.

我們如果真正深入去檢討自己的根機，就會發現我們不夠資格，是沒有力量學聖道門的，若是對自己缺乏自知之明，而去走聖道門，我們還會再度地繼續輪迴。
我們在日常生活中能夠把「五戒」持好是很不容易的。比如說不打妄語，我們心中明知要真誠清淨，言行一致，心口一如，打妄語是犯戒，卻往往會說妄語。
