Master Huijing’s Short Dharma Teachings about Faith in Pure Land Buddhism

Master Shandao says, “As soon as sentient beings begin to practice, the Buddha is immediately aware of them. If they recite the Buddha’s Name, the Buddha immediately hears them. If they reverently bow to the Buddha, the Buddha immediately knows. When sentient beings recollect or think of the Buddha, the Buddha will also recollect and think of them. Their three karmas will not forsake each other.”
This means that the Buddha and sentient beings are one inseparable entity. This is also referred to as “the aptitude and the teaching are one entity”.
善導大師說:「眾生起行,口常稱佛,佛即聞之;身常禮敬佛,佛即見之;心常念佛,佛即知之。眾生憶念佛者,佛亦憶念眾生,彼此三業,不相捨離。」
彼此三業不相捨離就是「一體不離」,所以這也是「機法一體」。
