Master Huijing’s Short Dharma Teaching about Classification of Teachings – Other-Power and Self-Power
淨宗判教 – 自他二力判
The teaching of the Fundamental Vow in Pure Land is purely the teaching of other-power. This means that we completely entrust in the inconceivable power of Amitabha’s Fundamental Vow for rebirth in the Land of Bliss. Upon rebirth in the Land of Bliss reincarnation in the cycle of birth-and-death within the Three Domains and the Six Realms naturally ceases.
The Land of Bliss is a realm of unconditioned Nirvana. Rebirth means realization of no-birth (birth is no-birth) and realization of infinite light and life in body and mind, the same as Amitabha Buddha.
淨土之本願法門是純他力之教,是全託彌陀願力;亦即乘託彌陀不可思議之本 願力往生極樂,既往生極樂,則三界六道之生死輪迴自然遠離。極樂是無為涅槃的境界,往生即悟無生(生即無生),與彌陀同證光壽無量的身心。
