Master Huijing’s Short Dharma Teaching about Faith in Pure Land Buddhism

Some people say we have to recite the Ksitigarbha Sutra to clear karmic obstructions as they appear. This is true for the Sacred Path. However, we are on the Pure Land Path in which the exclusive recitation of Amitabha’s name is our only prescription and single practice. A single name, that contains a myriad of virtues, can clear the deadly heavy offenses accumulated in 8 billion eons with only one thought. Its effect is much greater than whatever sutra you may recite or Dharani you may hold. So, those who really understand this effect will adhere to this single name all the way through.
有人說業障現前要先念《地藏經》消業障,通途法門才須要這樣,我們是淨土門,是一向專稱彌陀佛名的,藥方還是念佛,一句萬德洪名,一念能夠消八十億劫生死重罪,誦什麼經、持什麼咒,效果沒有這麼大,所以真正懂的人他就是一句佛號念到底。
