#10 - An Amitabha-reciter who is in a coma near the end-of-life, and cannot arouse a thought of the Buddha’s Name is uncertain of being reborn. Is this correct?

Amitabha Buddha made a vow to “appear and receive us near the end-of-life”. With boundless compassion, Amitabha knows we are confused and entangled in our karmic afflictions, and suffer deeply from the separation of the Four Great Elements. He has vowed to support us and says, “I will appear to receive you when you approach death, in order to make sure that you can maintain right mindfulness.”
There are no shortcomings in the exclusive practice of Amitabha-recitation, otherwise it could not be regarded as the “karma of assurance”.

其十:“念佛人臨終昏迷,提不起佛號,往生不定。” 對嗎?

阿彌陀佛之所以發這個“臨終現前接引願”,就是憐憫我們臨終四大分離、業緣相纏而不能做主。他知道我們有這樣的倒亂的苦惱,才要加持我們說:“我臨終現前接引,就是為了保證你命終之時能夠正念、心不顛倒的。”
專修念佛不會有閃失的,不然就不能稱為“正定之業”。
